The Burger King in Leicester Square was converted to be 100% vegan last month. They offer 25 vegetarian options like the Double Bacon Cheeseburger, Chili Bites, and their Plant-Based Whopper.
The intent of the month-long trial was to see if there was a demand for permanent meatless locations. Burger King isn’t the only fast food joint that has sought to expand its meatless menu. However, they were the first to pilot an all-vegan restaurant.
Much of the meat in fast food establishments is processed and breaded. Burger King shows how easy it is to replace a meatless alternative. Some people may not even be able to tell the difference.
Burger King introduced the Impossible Whopper to the United States in 2019 and quickly expanded to all locations nationwide.
The restaurant chain is toying with the possibility of adding some of the popular vegan dishes to the long-term menu. They aim to offer a 50% vegan menu by 2030.
