Large parts of Castle Street were in darkness this evening and a number of bars had to close due to a power problem.
The usually busy street, generally known as a popular weekend haunt in the city center, was quiet tonight.
ECHO understands that a “food problem” has affected several bars on the street in the city center.

Footage taken by ECHO shows a number of bars in darkness with their doors closed – as small groups of people walk down the usually busy street.
Bars and restaurants, including Mcguffie & Co, Sanctuary Tap, Rox and Pasta Cosa, were closed with no lights on.
A note on the door of one venue read: “Unfortunately we are closed for the weekend due to an electricity problem. Sorry for the inconvenience.”
A National Grid spokesman told ECHO they were not aware of any issues.
