Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain will remain behind bars until June 18 | Latest Delhi News

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, arrested by the Law Enforcement (ED) Directorate in a money laundering case, will remain behind bars until June 18 as a court reserved on Tuesday his order on his bail plea.

Special Judge Geetanjali Goel reserved the order until June 18 after hearing arguments from Jain as well as ED.

The federal agency had arrested Jain on May 30 under the criminal sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

On June 9, the court extended Jain’s custody in the emergency room by four days at the request of the agency, which requested his additional custody for another five days.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) called all the allegations against Jain a fraud.

Meanwhile, a viral image of the imprisoned minister with a bruised face as he was allegedly taken to hospital from ED custody has sparked speculation over injuries.

Senior AAP official Sanjay Singh, sharing the photo on Twitter, called it a “black mark” on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and ED. “The country will never forgive you,” he said.

According to Jain’s lawyer, the Delhi minister suffered from post-Covid sleep apnea and had to be sent to hospital as he was not feeling well.
