SCOTTSBLUFF – A 24-year-old man was arrested for reckless driving and was arrested after a K9 sniffed out his vehicle, Scottsbluff police said.

Last month, an officer reported seeing a speeding car on Overland Road in Scottsbluff.

The officer said the vehicle was kicking up a large amount of dust and came within about a foot of hitting a parked car. The officer reported that the truck made a high-speed turn in an attempt to avoid being stopped. The officer stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver who said his name was Andrew Jackson and later admitted his name was Adrian Jimenez, 24.

Jimenez was handcuffed and authorities reported that a K9 sniff led to a search of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed more than six grams of illegal mushrooms, while a bag of methamphetamine was found in Jimenez’s wallet, authorities said. Officers also reported a digital scale and an open liquor container. It was later discovered that Jimenez had a suspended Nebraska driver’s license.

Jimenez was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, false information, driving under suspension, reckless driving, possession of narcotic paraphernalia and open container.
