ATLANTA — More than two years into a pandemic — and with signs that life is slowly but surely returning to normal — how is America’s favorite restaurant doing?

Market research firm TOP Data analyzed more than 50 of the country’s most popular casual dining chains to see which are getting the most customer traffic in 2022 by state.
“We wanted to see how some of America’s most popular casual dining chains were doing in each state, as well as how the sit-down restaurants were performing compared to their take-out counterparts,” the company said.
TOP Data analyzed visitation data from 12 million Americans to compare which restaurant chains and states get the most foot traffic compared to 2021 numbers.
Casual dining traffic has grown 8.4% since 2021 nationally.
In Georgia, the top five casual restaurants in 2022 according to TOP Data are:
- waffle restaurant
- Chili’s Grill and Bar
- Cracker Barrel
- I JUMP
- olive garden
