A prolific criminal, who made headlines across the country earlier this year because of his looks, is now back behind bars.
Jonathan Cahill, 37, was jailed for 21 months after pleading guilty to a number of crimes, Live reports from Yorkshire. Cahill, of Fairfield Drive, Ossett, Wakefield, appeared at Leeds Crown Court on Thursday where he pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and driving while disqualified. He also committed two violations of failing to provide a specimen for analysis and operating a vehicle without insurance.
He was imprisoned for 21 months by His Honor Justice Mushtaq Khokhar. Cahill made headlines this year when West Yorkshire Police appealed for him.

Cahill was wanted on recall from prison for breaching his bail conditions after being released from a burglary sentence last September. Cahill was jailed in 2015 and convicted alongside co-defendant Daniel Kaye. Both were sentenced to eight years after stealing thousands of pounds worth of easily salable items such as laptops and phones. They also took keys and chased away expensive cars.
Leeds Crown Court heard as the couple gained access to the targeted properties by forcing the locks. Cahill was arrested at a petrol station when he had just driven there in a Vauxhall Insignia car which bore a false registration number and had been stolen in a burglary in Manchester.
In the West Yorkshire Police appeal in January this year, he was described as being of medium height and around six feet tall. The Force posted her appeal, but rather than helpful responses, received comments from women praising her beauty.
June Brown commented, “What is her crime that breaks hearts or homes?” Other social media users said they would be happy to volunteer to find Cahill and one added: “If I find him can I keep him?”
Another said: ‘Should be easy to find, half the women in West Yorkshire will be chasing after reading these comments.’ One person wrote: “I bet his ego is huge after reading a lot of these comments.”
Others weren’t impressed with the response and one person said, “Seriously. A guy keeps his hair past 30 and becomes some kind of god.” Another said: “I must need to go to Specsavers because I can’t see what everyone else seems to see.”
After the discovery of Cahill and the news of his arrest was shared, many across the county spoke of their disappointment and joked about its earlier popularity. A woman named Sarah said: “Probably for his own safety. I can see him sprinting through the station with a crowd of women behind him offering him ‘amnesty’ and begging him to be locked up to save his last pair of greys. from jail. sweatpants being ripped off. Poor guy!”
Caroline joked, “I bet he turned himself in for security reasons!” and Angela wrote: ‘Will need own Royal Mail lorry for letters!’
